Reasons why I'm against premarital sex....
Besides my religious beliefs telling me it's not okay, there are many other reasons I'm against it.
1. STDs. If people weren't having casual sex, we wouldn't have an epidemic of STD/STIs
2. Abortions. Most people who have abortions are not married. If people weren't having premarital sex, most abortions wouldn't have happened.
3. Having sex with only your spouse has proven to cause greater happiness and stability in marriages.
4. A lot less people would be single parents, and while most single parents do amazing jobs, it's definitely easier to parent with a partner.
5. Teen pregnancy wouldn't exist if people didn't have sex until they were married (unless they are married as a teen obviously)
7. A lot less broken hearts. Think of all the people who are in "love" and give their all to someone, just to have their hearts broken. People who care for each connect on a deeper level while having sex. If you wait you won't have to feel that heartache because most relationships (that weren't going to work anyways) would end before the people are too invested.
8. People with multiple partners are more likely to have lower self esteem and higher risk of depression.
9. Waiting helps people to actually get to know each other, not just because sexually addicted to each other.
This is why I think people should wait, yall can go ahead and tell me why you aren't against it or how "stupid" my reasons are, but I won't change mind.
I also think it's sad that people assume the only reasons religious people wait are because of guilt and fear of being doomed to hell. (Or the reason "virgin marriages" have lower divorce rates is because we are guilted into staying in bad/abusive marriages because "divorce is bad")
Just because we believe in a religion doesn't mean we are brainwashed with no thoughts or ideas of our own.
