So one of my old friends on FB is dating this guy who lives across the street from me so she posted a pic on FB and he got her a promise ring. He doesn't seem like the type of guy to do that but what does a promise ring really mean? I mean my ex boyfriend gave me one and I wasted two years of my life on him but I wish them the best!!!!

Just because your ex didn't mean what he said doesn't discount someone else's promise.

It could mean a number of things a promise to stay together a promise to withstain from sex.. For most guys it's real, but sadly for some it is a joke and means for a man to trick a girl into having sex with him:p I've seen it happen far too often

I am happy for them and I know that becuase my past relation that has nothing to do with theirs I'm just suprised that the guy I grew up with has a heart and I'm happy for them the guy I'm with now we have been together longer than them December 7th will make 10 months and that makes me want one for Christmas
