Pacifier Debate

My husband and I are having a heated debate over our daughter's pacifier. It popped out of her mouth and into the toilet this morning and my husband immediately went to throw it away! He said it's like a toothbrush that fell into the toilet and would need to be replaced. I stopped him and said we could just give it a really good wash and it'll be as good as new! What do you think?
