Mini pill

So, I was on the regular birth control pill until I formed a blood clot in my lung, and I had to stop taking that asap. I can no longer have estrogen, so my OBGYN gave me other options, one being the mini pill (progesterone only). The negative, that she stated, was that your period will come randomly (no sugar pill period). Well, I've been taking it for almost 4 months now and my period will come three times in a period of two weeks sometimes. I get pain like crazy still, acne isn't cleared up and acts up lik crazy right before, so now I have to stop this one. Has anyone else had this problem with this pill? :(
