Baby fights sleep like fighting her life

Am I the only mom that it takes over a hour to put your little one to bed? Sometimes I feel so alone. My daughter is 7 1/2 months and sometimes she'll fall asleep with no problem and the other times she'll fight her sleep so hard! For example I gave her baby food around 8:30, and afterwards I noticed she was sleepy so I nursed her and rocked her to sleep( after she squirmed, twisted and turned for 30mins) she fell asleep. I held her for 5 more mins then 5 mins after laying her down she was up crying. And this is 95% of the time. I'm a FTM so I feel like this isn't normal and  I feel like I'm the only one that goes through this .
