Is it weird?

I'm a feminist, not the whole bra burning, no shaving, hating heels type. I lost my virginity to an old time guy friend of mine and I didn't even tell him he was my first one. After growing up in a society where I was told the first time had to be special and then learning that sex can be just fun and pleasure I figured why not? I'm just wondering if anyone finds it weird. I have no regrets. This way the whole experience isn't tied to a boyfriend that could have ended badly with. Thought?
