Is it safe to shoot a gun while pregnant? My husband bought me a gun for Christmas and really wants me to practice shooting. But I'm not sure if I should. I will be 28 weeks.

Me and my husband are huge into guns. We actually conceived one time during a day trip ;). Baby has gone every step of the way. I am 6 months pregnant now and the drive over usually put a him to sleep. Haven't felt him kick yet while I have been shooting, but im aure it will happen soon. It is safe. Baby is in a very sound protected area. Get baby used to sounds now ;) have fun! Thats me and the family out a few weeks ago. We already have a ham plan for when baby is here. Going to be a fun summer.

I'm almost 7 months pregnant and me and my fiance go shooting all the time I shoot our glock 19 and our AR15 I've been shooting them since before I found out I was pregnant

You ladies think a shooting range would allow me to go shooting in there? Or not allow a pregnant woman in the range?  I'm 23 weeks. I miss shooting so bad haha.

I didn't vote because there is no "use your own discretion " button. My hubs and I LOVE shooting, but we decided not to have me shoot while I'm starting to show. The bigger you get the less insulated things are and no one knows exactly when the ears are done forming. Just using the better safe then sorry idea. However, for our gender reveal, we shot balloons filled with paint to reveal the sex 😊

I was coyote hunting during my first trimester and I still go out to our range weekly... There is no issue, my midwife laughs that she will sleep thru everything when she comes

I would say no just because being in the military they give us our own profile saying we can not fire our weapons because of the chemicals but our weapons are gas operated rifles. But if the army says no I say no too lol

I read a lot online and everything said an indoor range is a definite no because of the sound. The baby is surrounded by amniotic fluid & the fluid will actually amplify the sound. There was a study performed on Sheep in utero and they showed signs of hearing damaged with short bursts of noises over 150 db.

Even reading about outdoor ranges made me too nervous to go shooting. They'd say it's safe to shoot, but only up to a .22 gun at an outdoor range. I read a lot of police departments don't allow pregnant officers to practice at the gun range.

I love shooting but after reading all of that, it didn't seem worth it to me!

I had called my Dr about this and they said no bc it can hurt the baby's developing ears :-(

I've been doing it my whole pregnancy the sound they hear in the womb is like us having on ear plugs when shooting I was hesitant also but it's all good never did ask my doctor though Bc I just don't see in any way how it could be harmful
