Excessive bleeding....

So I have been on the depo shot for the past 6 months and I just recently had a period for literally 3 weeks. And I am now spotting once again and it's been two weeks since I got off that period. Is this normal with the depo shot??? I try calling my doctor but they are so hard to get ahold of so I usually end up playing phone tag with them. Anyone have opinions?
