Is Yaz dangerous?

So recently I got the birth control yaz, and started my first dosage last night. I read online about all the horror stories related to yaz and wanted to know if these were common or not. This is my first birth control and I'm freaked out after reading about all the blood clots, etc. So, I was wondering if it's likely or unlikely.

I used it, I loved it for the most part. But after a year i guess my body got used to it, and I bled for 6 months straight (heavy period the entire time) 
I switched to another brand. Then got the implant.

The biggest thing with Yaz is blood clots. If you smoke, or anything like this. DO NOT TAKE IT.

The first time I used it I cramped so so so bad. Crying on the floor rolling around and then about 2 hours later the largest clot I have ever seen came out and it wasn't like blood it was light pink and fleshy. It was like the length and width of a pad. Safe to say I never used it again 😂😂.

Anyway my mum uses it and she's had absolutely no problems and loves it. It depends on the person.
