Bleeding for 3 weeks straight???

Okay, so I got an IUD 6/9/16 and I didn't bleed after I got it but after my first period I've been bleeding 3 weeks straight?? Should I be worried at all? Or is this just normal, because it'll stop then come back.

Extended bleeding is normal with hormonal IUDs. If you're still bleeding after 3 months, your doctor will want to check to make sure everything is ok. I bled for 6 months after mine was put it, which I was told was normal for women with heavy periods. I'm not sure what they'd do if you continued bleeding after that as I had mine taken out at that point

I bled for about a week and a half after I got it in but I haven't bled since and that was in March. I know you can spot for up to six months and then it should stop. Have you had kids? It's harder to put in if you haven't had kids yet
