Being rushed by Doctor???

Question

I know a lot has changed since my mom had babies, but she said every time she went to the dr she got measured and everything. I feel like every appointment I've had other then the anatomy scan has been in and out. I pee, ask whatever questions I have, then hear the heartbeat and that's it. Is this normal??

I sit longer in the waiting room than I do in the exam room.

Yep totally normal for this stage. This is my fourth pregnancy and not with the same OB and my appointments are the same. If there aren't any concerns or risks this is all they really need to check at this point. Just make sure if you DO have questions your Dr is giving you a chance to ask them and gives you a satisfactory answer.

That's how all of mine have been so far. Finally at my 20 week they measured me for the first time.

They don't even measure me lol I get weighed, pee and listen to the heartbeat. I'm in and out in 15 minutes

I have had the same question! When I was pregnant with you 8 and 10 year olds, I was measured at every appt and they were so thorough but with this pregnancy, it's in and out and any ti.e I ha e a question it's like I get the fastest answer possible! Like today, I said that my left hip is giving me really bad pain (feels like siatic nerve pain) and asked for any recommendations to ease the pain because I can barely lift my leg to put on pants and was told, "nope, that's just part of pregnancy"?!?! Like okay, I guess I will just turn to Google for some stretches or something! Sad that I get more info on my prenatal care from Google than my OB! Very frustrating feeling like I'm being rushed through every visit!!! I feel you mommy!

That's totally normal. I sit waiting for an hour or more between the waiting room and the exam room, and I see the doctor for maybe 5 minutes.

Yes it's normal. I just swtched to a midwife bc they tend to be better with that stuff 😃

That's what my doctor has been doing. I think they start checking your measurements and cervix once you get into the third tri but I'm not sure. I was just saying to my husband it's nice to hear the heartbeat every four weeks but it's such a short appointment! It takes us longer to drive 20 minutes to the clinic than the actual appointment. But thankful that means everything is going well!

That's one of the MANY reasons why I switched to a midwife. The care, effort professionalism and personal attention are all on a whole new level! I am never going back

Same for me. And about 1/2 the time I've just seen the nurse bc the doc is delivering a baby. They don't rush me persay but it's def a fast appointment.
