Metformin success

Has anyone taken metformin? How many mgs and how many times a day? What side effects dis you have? Was if successful for you in getting pregnant? Would love to know as I've been on it since September due to pcos to rack up treatment cycles so we can go on the ivf wait list in January but also plan to do iui #2 in January as well. It has successfully made me ovulate every month as well as given me on time cycles as well, amazing! But it has however given me terrible diarrhoea at times and made me quite sick.
