Vitex.. Any success stories?

I have recently read some articles about the supplement vitex. It's supposed to help with regulating your cycle, PMS symptoms, as well as possibly boosting and regulating the hormones needed for fertility. My periods are irregular, so it's hard to tell when I'm ovulating. I'm thinking about trying it. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I am taking Vitex for my 3rd month.  I started taking it because I had a short luteal phase and an ovarian cyst that came back.  My naturopath recommended it.  The 1st month I took it I knew it began working for me because I didn't have spotting like I did in the months prior.  My last period was very painful and I finally got rid of the cyst.  Yesterday I used OPK and got a positive LH surge.  This is the first time that has happened in the 3 months I have been testing.  Although I am not pregnant yet, I do believe I am a success story on Vitex, so I thought I would share.  I also have done a lot of research on it.  "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" is a book that I found at the library that also recommends Vitex.

Hi, I spoke to my doc about it and she said that if you are 'actively' ttc then it's not a good idea- if you were to fall pregnant while on it apparently it can be harmful to the baby. We decided to just use OPK's and wait it out. Hope this helps xx

I didn't have luck with it, but I read lots of stories of women that did. My naturopath said you must take it like clock work - same time every day - for the best chances of it working. Good luck xx

Hi Erin, I just posted the same thing! Then read down and seen your post. I have read positive things about it but also am looking for info from people with experience using it. I found this website helpful

Hi, I've tried liquid vitex, it didn't work for me but u have regular periods. However it could prove successful in your case. Wouldn't hurt to try as long as u take it 4 atleast 3 months to see if. It works :-) GL.
