Try your best to get hormone free birth control. Copper IUD Is a great birth control and it doesn't mess with your body like those hormone based BC.

I've heard so many bad things about the shot. Also if you have a bad reaction to the pill (example: mood swings, cramping, spotting, weight gain) you have to deal with those symptoms for three months because that is how long the shot stays in your system.

I honestly prefer the implant; Nexplanon. It lasts for three years and you don't have to worry about taking a pill every morning or going in for a shot. If you get side effects you don't like they can just remove it. Most insurances cover it too, so it should be free.
