How many times do you have to check a day?

I just got diagnosed with GD and I'm wondering how many times a day you have to check your blood sugar levels? Is it after every meal or once a day at a certain time?

4 times a day once when you get up and then two hours after every meal

Once in the morning before eating or drinking anything (this is fasting, should be at least 8 hours after last meal or drink other than water).

Then it's just 2 hours after every meal. It's really not that bad! 😉
