Treatment after miscarriage?

Hello, I had a miscarriage July 1st Friday at 3 am. I called my dr during office hours the next day and was put on the nurse line. They just said to call if I was bleeding too heavy or in worse pain and to get my second blood work done which was already scheduled. It has been 7 days and not a word back from my dr. Everything I have learned about this has been online. I called again on Tuesday and got the nurse line. They said my doctor will call when he has reviewed my blood work. It's Thursday and I have heard nothing. Is this normal? Wouldn't they want to see me or at least tell me what I should or should not do? Like no tampons and is it okay to have sex or not? I do have an appointment next week on Thursday that was suppose to be my second ultrasound..:( I don't even know if I should keep that or cancel it. Should I try to find another doctor or is this normal treatment? I was about 5 weeks pregnant and we did 1 initial ultrasound and saw nothing. The Dr just said maybe I wasn't as far along as I thought. The nurse gave me a weird look and that's it. I feel like there should've been more discussion that this could be a miscarriage.. Again, is this normal treatment or should I go somewhere else?
