Period doctor appointments

Ok I am 14 and I got my period about a year and a half ago. When I did get it, it was soooooo heavy that I couldn't even move or it gushed. I filled up a pad in 10 mins. It was terrifying how much blood was in me. But my mom kept reassuring me that it was fine and normal. When it was then she told me that I need to start getting vagina exams from the women doctor to make sure everything is healthy and clean. No kidding I ran away. Like who the fuck likes getting their vagina touched by a stranger doctor. Yes, I do know I will have to face my fear sometime when I get older and do that. But still, is it just me that terrified of doing that??
