Try looking at it this way: when someone says "save the rainforest" they don't mean that all other forests don't matter, but that the issue is the rain forest.

Literally it's just trying to highlight black lives matter ALSO. Just like feminism is about EQUALITY and Black History Month is to highlight the LARGELY UNDER REPRESENTED group.

Acknowledging that some group is important does not diminish other groups importance.

The #BlueLivesMatters one is especially annoying because it basically implies "more than black lives" otherwise why say it in the context of a discussion of police brutality against unarmed men of color? It's not as if #BlackLivesMatter is saying it's okay to kill police officers or like any of the officers involved in these high profile incidents were in any danger.

I think it's crazy how many people disrespect police officers. Like if someone were to open fire in the restaurant you were in, the cops would be called to risk their lives to save the lives of those in the restaurant. Cops die every day responding to domestic assault calls, doing their jobs by trying to keep the roads safe when people are speeding. And yesterday, five officers lost their lives trying to maintain safety. I get there are bad cops, just like there are bad civilians. But the vast majority are not. People are just so unappreciative and entitled. It's really disheartening.
