Hpv & ttc
I was diagnosed with HPV 6 years ago and I still have it. I have the high grade 16 & 18. My OB did a biopsy and colposcopy and my cervix gave a normal result (thank god no cancer) just my pap comes back abnormal. I have been ttc for 6 years now and believe my virus could be the reason why we haven't been able to get pregnant but there's no way to confirm that. I get checked every 6 months and my doctor says that I'm ok and don't need to do any procedures. I read that some of you ladies say it goes away on its own which is great, however if it does go away can you still get it back from your spouse? If I have it he could as well I'm sure and we don't have protected sex of course since we're ttc and in men the virus is not detectable! And can you pass on the virus to your baby?
UPDATE: thanks ladies for all your response's. I am still getting abnormal paps, my biopsy is what came back normal so my cervix/uterus doesn't carry the virus but my vagina does. I have taken so many ovulation tests I can't even tell you how many. My husband and I have decided to try IVF. I will be doing a egg retrieval on July 20 🙏🏻 I just wasn't sure if I could pass it on the unborn baby. I have done the HSG and I'm all clear my tubes were open. My doctor said my cervix was a little inflamed but I don't have PID.
