Anyone did any nap/sleep training?

Question

Anyone did any nap/sleep training? No shushing, rocking, swing, mamaroo, boppy & co sleeping. How old was your little? How long did it take? What method did you use? My little is allergic to sleeping on her own. She will only sleep if someone is holding her. I'm not opposed to the CIO method either. Any suggestion/tips will be greatly appreciated. Please be nice, I know this is a controversial subject & a touchy one. Thanks mamas!! 😘💕

I started sleep training at 6 months... My son was absolutely horrible about going to sleep on his own.. I would have to hold him.. I would put him in his crib on his back .. He would scream and cry.. I would go in there every 10-15 minutes tell him I love him and give him a kiss and walk back out.. I did this over and over and after the third night he just went to sleep on his own..

It is so hard to start with but it gets easier! I cried right along with him. He didn't ever need anything because I made sure he was always fed and changed.. The only thing he wanted was to be held 24/7.. Good luck!!

Ferber method is working wonders for my 3.5 month old who was using me as a pacifier at night and wouldn't be put down for naps either. Last night he slept in his crib for 11 hours waking twice to eat. He napped alone in his crib for the first time ever. Read the book so you can make an informed decision. PS I was a firm opposer of any time of CIO before I read the book.

We did sleep training for nighttime and naps at 6 months.

I'd put my son in his bed and he'd cry because he wanted to be held to sleep. Id let him cry for 2 minutes then go in and comfort him, then we'd start over. We also bought a light & sound crib soother which helped a lot.

It took a solid month of this back and forth, back and forth but it worked. For myself and my own piece of mind we also bought a video baby monitor so I could see that he really was ok and just crying for the sake of crying and not because he got his leg stuck between the crib bars......again.

I had my daughter sleeping in her own crib all night without rocking or anything by three months/15lbs. It took me about 3 full nights or the "training". I also was able to just lay her down for her naps after getting her trained this way. From day one she never slept with me but she did fall asleep before laying her down in her little bassinet beside my bed (idk if that had anything to do with it). So to start.... What I did was at 8pm after she ate and was changed I laid her in her crib. Yes she did cry but all I did was rub her belly for a second and say it's ok then walked out. In about 20 minutes I went back in and did the exact same thing, comforting her for a second (no more than 5 minutes total in the room) and then walking out. Each time I made sure she wasn't pooped but never fed her since the pediatrician said there was zero nutritional need to eat through the night after 15 pounds. I repeated this every 20 minutes until she fell asleep and then when she would wake up during the night I just made sure she didn't need changed and go right into the every 20 minute thing. It was rough for like 3 nights with very little sleep but after that she slept like a champ!! 8pm to 8am and naps I could just lay her down for and she knew what was up. :-)
