CALLING ALL FOSTER PARENTS

Poll question: as a foster parent, did you feel the government provided you with enough money to support the child(ren) you fostered? Or did you end up needed to supplement with your own money? I ask not out of selfishness, but I'm wondering if I can financially take on the responsibility of being a foster parent. I don't have much to offer but love for tiny humans, so I'm wondering if the government tends to provide enough for these kids, or if I need to save more money before becoming a foster parent.
More discussion: can you tell us your experiences with the foster care system? Of course being a foster parent is hard work, but is it worth it? Would you reccomend it to other competent and caring adults? What got you interested in foster parenting in the first place?
