Long night

Amber • SAHM to a beautiful, smart, energetic 2 year old boy and his newborn brother!!
After feeling very uncomfortable this weekend, with more cervical pressure (baby has dropped already) and increased Braxton-Hicks, I started having consistent contractions at work yesterday every 4-7 minutes. I went up to l&d and sure enough, strong, consistent contractions. I got hooked up to monitors and iv fluids, got a steroid shot to help baby's lungs mature, and had a cervical check which revealed that I am 1, almost 1.5cm dilated, but not thinning yet. They ran tests to check for group b strep and a preterm labor indicator test. Four doses of Picardia to stop contractions, and they finally slowed down overnight. I will be on modified bedrest for now after I get discharged. The doctors were getting prepared last night for an early delivery. I am 29+4 today. Hopefully these contractions won't pick back up again after while.
