When do I start feeling like a mom?

Im 24 weeks pregnant and I feel my daughter in my belly every day, I even have a huge belly proving she is in there but I don't feel like a mom yet. I feel protective of her, but other than that I just dont feel like a mother yet. Is that normal? When did you guys feel that connection?

I honestly didn't feel like a "mom" until I had my daughter... I loved her, wanted her safe, and would die for her, but I didn't feel like a mom until I gave birth to her and held her for the first time. I was always terrified I'd lose her, so it was almost like I wouldn't let myself accept that I was a mother until I held her.

My baby girl is 2 weeks old and it still hasn't hit me. Give it time. I was hoping once I held her and went through labor it's hit me I was a mom and had a baby.. Nope. You can tell in all my labor pictures I was just ridiculously surprised there was a baby there. It'll come in time. Don't get too caught up in it.

I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow and honestly... it didn't really hit until recently. Our neighbors are really nice people, mid 70's, retired, keep to themselves fairly well... but their bastard of a grandson moved in and he admitted he was a sex offender. But told us the whole "she said she was 18 story" when she was 15. I was suspicious and disgusted by him non the less. 
About a month ago we found his actual charges... sexual contact with a SEVEN year old girl and an ELEVEN year old boy... on top of the 4th degree rape charge on a 15 year old girl. (Which most likely from what I've read, 4th degree would be more than just consensual statutory rape) 
I have never had such a fire in my belly as that day. I wanted to rip him apart and burn the pieces. We're having a baby girl is 4 weeks and the concept of that disgusting predator living right next door to us (especially when my husband works midnights and I'm home alone then) made me absolutely sick. It's strange to think about, but honestly that is when I finally felt like a mom. If he approached our house maliciously I would have absolutely no problem putting a bullet in between his eyes if he ever threatened my daughter or my family. But luckily we believe he's moved back home and won't have to worry.
My husband became a dad really early honestly. He has always had a problem standing up to his mom. but when I was throwing up 4 to 5 times a day and his mom tried saying it was just an excuse to not see her he snapped. He finally told her exactly where she could shove it and said that if she couldn't be nice then she would have no part in our lives. She has had a complete change of heart now and has been amazing. He became even more of a dad once he could feel her roll through my stomach and could feel her hands and feet too. She's became more real to him and he is so in love already. 
Sorry that was so long. But I just wanted to show that everyone becomes a mom/dad at different points and there is nothing wrong with that!

I'm 37 weeks today, and to be honest, I still don't feel it. To put it quite frankly, I even have some resentment towards my little parasite. Some Moms don't bond with their babies until a month or more after they are born. It's perfectly normal. I'm excited that it's finally happening for us (Hubs and I tried to conceive for 2 years), but I'm so tired and sore all the time, and I'm still throwing up from time to time. Basically, I want my body back! But I know the moment I get to see my husband hold, everything is going to change. Just hang in there. It'll be ok.

It's because you're "a mom to be"! You're not a mom yet. LOL 😜 Once she's born and you feel responsible for her and Start cuddles and bonding then the "mommy feelings" will come! No worries! Enjoy yourself as long as you still can! 😉😊

My pregnancy wasn't "real" to me until I was mid 20 weeks because I could feel my little one, and having all day morning sickness everyday wasn't enough lol. I know what you mean though. I'm 26 weeks and sometimes sit and awkwardly think to myself "this is weird, I'm a mom?!" I used to think it was weird to talk to him but I've kinda gotten in a habit and it's really helped me feel more bonded with him ☺
