Too many follicles?

Hi ladies - has anyone had the issue of having too many maturing follicles and had to cancel their IUI that cycle? I have no know fertility issues, am healthy and seem to have a good amount of follicles in each ovary. My wife and I are seeking IUI due to not having all the parts to make a little human ourselves. Anyways, I had my first ultrasound yesterday and have 7 follicles on the right and 9 on the left. This is our first IUI attempt. My doctor gave me Letrozole, 5mg, for CD 5-9. I guess what I'm worried about is having to miss this cycle and try again next month. Does anyone know if that's common? Or what the odds are with my numbers of over developing? My average follicle size was between 4-5.88...

My doctor asked me to cancel my iui with 4 follicles but three of them were good sized, i decided otherwise and got pregnant the same cycle 😊

If they are all that small you don't have any lead follicles yet. So I wouldn't worry about having too many at this stage. I had several small ones on each side last cycle, but nothing ever developed until CD22 when I had only 1 14mm and I ovulated the next day.

I have seen people post about too many follicles tho. They had like 6 I think. Most doctors will cancel anything over 3. Some countries like Australia mandate they cancel if there is more than 2.

But agai, I wouldn't worry about this unless you have multiple follicles get over 10mm

Yes I've heard of it 
Specially if they know you won't be open to selective reduction they will try to have you try again next month in fear of having a multiple pregnancy

I have never heard of too many follicles ,rather the opposite actually! I would be stoked with that #!  Did the doc I mention anything to that effect at your appointment? I know the feeling of worry regarding the whole iui situation though ! I just had my first iui last Thursday and I am worried that it didn't work...I am worried that it's a tubal, and before that I was worried my follicles weren't big enough. I don't think you have to worry about too many follicles though , I think those are good numbers , and I would sure be happy with them :) baby dust to you and your wife!

Looks like we have two front runners on the left side. Have to go back Monday for another ultrasound to check maturity. They're too small to trigger yet. Today's CD10 and I normally surge on CD13 but it appears the meds may have thrown that off a bit. Praying for at least one of those suckers to grow and for a Tues/Wed insemination.

I thought I had too many and was worried about multiples...ha! God fooled me, we didn't conceive. I had 6 follicles between 15-25 and a few more between 13-15.
