Do tampons hurt?

I've never used a tampon but I would like to start. But I'm really worried.. How does it feel?

They can hurt if you put them in wrong. But if you put them in right you wont even feel it until it needs changing.

It depends on a few things like how heavy your flow is, if you have proper placement or not and how often you change it. If you have a very light flow (like myself) tampons are uncomfortable because it dries out the vagina because you don't have enough blood to fill it. To achieve proper placement you can do it standing with one leg on something like the bath tub, squatting or sitting on the toilet. I fully insert the tampon applicator and pull out at the same rate I press the plunger so it's essentially left in the same spot as the applicator was originally. Changing it before it absorbs enough blood can cause it to feel dry but leaving it in to long can cause leaks (and can cause tss). I hope this helped. Good luck

You can't feel it at all, I've been using them since I was 12. It did feel uncomfortable the first time because I didn't push it up enough, but afterwards I couldn't feel it anymore.

I tried to use them before I had my child. I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried, it always hurt. After I had my kid at 20, it's all I could use. Now I have no issue with them.

It does feel a bit weird. And if you've never used one. It will hurt the first time. But once you get used to the new feeling of having it in there. It really doesn't hurt. Removing them does hurt a bit. Since the tampon has expanded. But after using them for awhile you get used to it

It didn't hurt at all for me when I first started using them (I was a virgin at the time too)
