Scared of giving birth?

Question

Is anyone else scared of giving birth? I'm a first time mom, and I'm more nervous than scared. I don't know what it will be like. I don't know if I will tear, how bad the pain will be, if I'll end up having to have a c-section, if I'll poop on the take, etc.. just random thoughts I keep getting nervous about. I'm 21 weeks now, and can't find relief from my nervousness. Has anyone else felt this way?

I'm excited about having my first baby and getting to experience the whole thing! I'm a doula and I promise you that pooping is literally no big deal and no woman has ever noticed she was doing it. The doctors and nurses are trained for that so its really nothing and it will be the last thing on your mind. Tearing is also not as big a deal as most people think. Just listen to your doctor tell you when to push and how hard....not everyone tears, but if you do, it's easily fixed. And if you aren't getting an epidural, the general pain of the entire experience will be felt all over so the burning feeling of a tear won't be something you're focusing on. Birth really is an amazing thing to experience and I'm sooooo excited to be blessed with the opportunity to experience it in anyway! As lon as my baby comes out safe and healthy, I'm happy

I have IBS and just recently experienced a huge flare-up. I read articles and threads where women said that IBS pain while pregnant can be in the same category as labor. And I must say, I can't even explain how bad it hurt. But I guess if it's true it's up there with labor, I'm a little less nervous.
 But I'm super scared about pooping on the table 😂😂😂

I'm 20 weeks with my third and I still feel anxious sometimes, lol. It's very normal to be a little nervous because you're going into something unknown, but try to take comfort knowing that your body was designed to birth a baby, and is capable. I strongly second the Ina Gartner book, I read it before I delivered my second and it was life changing. I plan to read it again this time around for a refresher. Most of all, you are NOT alone in your feelings, and they are perfectly normal. Good luck mama!

Yup I'm terrified. I also feel bad for my husband. He HATES when I am in pain or feel sick and he can't fix it. So he's gonna be  miserable too.

I'm terrified of having to push for hours. They made my friend push for 3 hours before doing a c-section because he was sunny side up.

I'm also 100% getting an epidural but I'm afraid of that too

I'm just soooo excited that fear doesn't even have room to exist in my head lol AND we're doing an all natural, unmedicated water birth at home.

I was induced the first time.  I ripped but refused to let them cut me. In the end. It's all.about the baby. The hospital, doctors and nurses will try and do everything they can to make your comfortable.

I did not have an epidural.

I am nervous to give birth again tbh. I want to go into labor at home. Have time to get to the hospital.

I'm prego with baby number 4, those feelings of being scared and nervous never go away. I'm still feeling them. Everyone, every pregnancy, every delivery, every baby is different so you never know what to expect. I just try to take it one day at a time and tell myself when the time comes no matter my experience my body will know what to do

This is my second pregnancy in 7 years and I'm scared to death! My first one was easy but the pain was unbearable even with medicine! Lol
