How do you feel about gambling?

How do y'all feel about gambling?

I personally don't like it.  I think anything that is addictive is more bad than good. I've personally known people and have read too many stories of people who have been addicted to gambling and it's ruined marriages, friendships, and families.  It sad to me that someone could want to spend all their money on gambling instead of paying their bills, feeding their families, etc... Or borrowing tons of money from friends and family. 
I don't see it ever being illegal, there's way too many places that depend on it, but I still don't like it lol.

My S/O and I go once or twice a month and we only bring $20 each to play. It's fun if you know how to limit yourself. And the best part is winning!! Last month I was down to my last $5 and I hit the bonus and by the time the bonus was done i won $465!! And we always leave after we win so we don't put it all back :)

I'm mostly against it for a couple reasons. 1. I don't think I should gamble what God gives me. 2. I don't like the culture surrounding it. That doesn't mean I'm not friends with people that do gamble from time to time, it just has no place in my house (my hubby feels the same way.)

Gambling is like any other addiction. Do you think all think that are classed as "addictive " should be illegal? Lives get ruined from a lot more than gambling, I,e video games. Should wow become illegal and banned just because some people are addicted and ruined their lives?

Gambling is illegal where I live, but my grandpa won over a million dollars one year gambling, don't get me wrong, he put in a lot of money but he wins big when he goes. I'm neutral, I'll put in $25 and that's my max that I'll spend because I'm a cheapo.

I don't care, but I live in the biggest gambling state and I see how low the intelligence is of the regular players at the casinos. I'm pretty sure nobody playing slots has an IQ over 80, because if they did then perhaps they'd relize that when they get free drinks every 5 minutes, they're not actually free, and when the casino comps them a standard hotel room (valued at 35.00) that they've played at least $1,000, which is enough to rent the biggest hotel suite for a week or more! The gambling mentality is very low brow--even when they do win they just pour that money back into the machines because they think they'll win more (statistically impossible). Another thing I hate about it is seeing people who get disability, social security, and welfare/cash aid and they spend those whole monthly checks at the casino. It's not a pretty business. I'm moving away from here before my children are born.

I live in reno our city is all about gambling. I have only done it a few times myself but i grew up around it. So it doesn't bug me at all.

I think it's like all things that are addictive. My husband and I go to the casino sometimes. Not very often, but when we do we only take about $100. My uncle is a compulsive gambler and it ruined his marriage. He's now divorced and living in a house with two mortgages, that he used to own outright. It's pretty sad. I think some people can do it just for fun, but other with addictive personalities should def stay away.

I think it's stupid. I don't like it & I don't like when people close to me do it. I've seen people go overboard with it so that's why I dislike it so much. I can accept maybe buying a lottery ticket every once in a while but I just think generally it's a waste of money.

I live on the California / Nevada border. I love gambling. It sucks when you gamble your rent check away, but damn is it exciting. Lol.
