Frustrating

I came off the pill 3 months ago after being on it for a year because me and my boyfriend decided we wanted to start trying, however I still haven't had a period yet! It's so annoying because we want to start trying properly but I feel like nothing is going to happen until I have a period! Is there a reason I still haven't had a period? Is it normal or is there something I can do to bring it on? Help
