When should you start getting an annual exam?

Me and my cousin were arguing about when you should start getting your annual exams.
When you're 21 
Or when you become sexually active - but once you turn 21 you should start even if you're not sexually active.

You should have an annual exam if you are sexually active, but a papsmear does not start until 21 years old. A Pap smear looks at cervical cancer and HPVnot STD. an annual exam includes blood work, a visual exam of the genitalia and STD testing. If you are sexually active you should still have an exam, just no papsmear until 21. Those are the guidelines that are out right now.

I'm married (so obviously sexually active), but my OB won't do a pap until I'm 21... Said there are a lot of problems you have when you're young that can resolve themselves as you age.
