Pink discharge

In the evenings my discharge is pink. I have had the doctor check me (cervix is long but thin and he felt I was a tiny bit dilated) but didn't think anything of the discharge. Could this just be a sign of my cervix softening? Also, I can't forget the HORRRIBLE pains between my legs. This is my second pregnancy and I know I didn't feel like this until later with my first. I'll be 35 weeks Friday.
