Gates car seat

My LO absolutely hated his car seat... He hates being placed in it, being in the car or in the stroller. I have toys on it and I placed a mirror in the back so he can see himself and I can see him. He scream crys for about 5 to 15 min every car ride no matter who is in the back with him. I can reach my arm back and hold his hand and he ends up sucking on my finger, but refuses a passi.if he is too extream I pull over get him out and he calms down instantly. Any one else dealing with anything like this? Any thoughts or ideas?
