Can you start a registry if you're not having a baby shower?

Do they expect you to buy all the things on your registry? I'm not having a baby shower but I have family on my side and my fiances side who will be buying baby things to help out. I was thinking of doing one at target but is ok to do that? What if everything on the list doesn't get bought? Thanks guys.

You can deffinitly do one. We did one mostly so we didn't forget to buy things. You might even get a gift bag for signing up! Although I'm sure they would love for you to buy everything on the list you are not required to.

as far as I know I'm not having one either but I created a registry and my friends and family can just mail me whatever they choose. I think it's fine. no sense in stressing over babyshower just enjoy pregnancy and prepare however you see fit.

Whatever doesn't get bought you get a discount on so yes make one it will benefit you in the end plus you get a welcome gift bag with bottles pasis coupons etc

I've got 3 registries made up and we've decided not to do a shower. We're going to do a welcome home celebration once she arrives so our registries are going to be more of a list of things that we'd like to purchase ourselves. I do have family and friends that have already asked about them so I'm sure there will be items that they purchase off of them but otherwise, it'll be solely my boyfriend and myself using them. :)

Think of a registry like a list, it's a tool to help keep track of things you want and need. Store gain traffic by you using their tool but don't expect everything to be purchased, heck you could purchase nothing from your registry and they wouldn't penalize you. Go for it, create one for every baby store if you wish it can't hurt anything.
