A bassinet or bed side crib that rocks?

I've been thinking about a rock n play but my mom brought up a good point that newborns should lay flat. So does anyone know of a bassinet or small bedside crib that rocks? I looked at a halo one but it doesn't rock and seemed very jerky.

I have the Orbit Baby bassinet (as well as the stroller and carseat). My daughter slept in it for 5-6 months, then I let my friend and then cousin use it for their babies, and I'm about to use it for my son. It is an awesome bassinet!

Rock and plays are not meant for unsupervised sleep. I used a Moses basket with rocking stand.

I did the Rock and play with my second daughter because she would NOT sleep flat on her back. I'd lay her down and she would cry and cry. First daughter ended up sleeping in my arms while I slept in a recliner then I ended up laying her on her belly or I would not have slept at all. My pediatrician said as long as their neck muscles were strong enough that laying In a rock and play would be ok or laying on a firm flat mattress with nothing else in the way would also be fine. I plan on doing the same this time around if she doesn't do laying flat also.

I finally found a bassinet that rocks I don't have the name on hand tho. But we also have a regular crib for when she grows out of the bassinet because they grow quick.

Bassinets are small and baby's grow out of them very quickly!
