Ok.. Is she wrong or am I tripping?

(Backstory)I love my fiancée. With all my heart. We haven't been dating for what many people say is conventionally long. But we've know each other for 1-2 1/2 years now. We just recently moved to my hometown so I could plan my weeding with my mother and family, this is my families first time physically meeting my SO.

Today at the gym my mother drops on me that her and my father have been googling and RESEARCHING him. That they had my grandpa (Cheif of police) pull ALL his records and any information on him. And she begins to tell me all these things that I personally hadn't known. I feel like she doesn't like him and is looking for a reason but I could be bias. Was she wrong or am I tripping?!?!

Well either way. Having a record does not make him a bad person, everyone is young and makes dumb mistakes!! No one is perfect, and if you love him then you should look past it and stand by his side, my fiancé has a record and he's the best thing that has ever happened to me,!! I think it's wrong

Actually she did the right thing. My ex bf of 2 1/2 years was my everything and I thought he was the one. My parents thought that setting was "off" about him and did the same exact thing. Sure enough...he's been to jail for assault and battery, terrorist threats, and felony for marijuana. I broke up with him on the spot. I hate to say it...but they did it because they know what's best for you. Mothers instinct is almost always right. If he has done some bad things he's not worth it. People like that can't change and I learned that the hard way. Sorry sweetheart :(

I kinda feel like your mom went to much into his personal business. You never know he could have sit down and talk to you about it. If he does tell you then you would already know cause of your mom I think she went a tad bit overboard. I understand she is looking out for you but that will make you look at your relationship different with your mom speaking up first without him having this chance.

I think it is one of those things you won't  understand until you have kids (not that I have any) but I see it more from a protective family just trying to determine if  the guy is good enough for you.

I get that it's pretty intense scrutiny but if it was your daughter and you had a hunch something was wrong would you let it go? It also depends if she does this with everything in your life , that would be pretty controlling, but if she did it for this major step in your life I getting married she probably wants u to make a decision knowing all the facts. It's only fair to you that you know I major things about your future husband

If I knew my mom did this, I'd be very bothered because she had no right to do that. Its his past & no matter what he has done.. He's not that guy anymore & I love him so my mom would definitely be nosey. Honestly it wasn't in her place to do that..

My dad is a cop and pulled up my husband before our first date. He didn't find a thing on him but he did it because he cared. They're just doing it so they can protect their baby. Maybe their concerned this is fast especially since they're just now meeting him. Since you didn't know any of it I'd suggest talking with him. I knew my husband better than he knew himself before we made the decision to get married. It is his past and we typically leave thi ng s in the past in our relationship but there are some things you have a right to know if you're marrying the guy.

I think the googling is pretty normal, but using your grandpa's resources is too much. BUT it is what it is, and it's already done, so if she found something bad you should talk about it with your fiancée.
