Travel system recommendations?

Hubby and bare getting ready to do our registry and in doing research on travel systems. Obviously I want something really safe, and the Chicco Bravo Trio was rated really well for that. However, it's $380 and I feel really greedy putting something that expensive on a registry! Can anyone tell me their experiences with that, or similar, travel systems? Are they worth the price? Should we register for a car seat and stroller separately? Or look at a cheaper travel system? I don't even know if anyone would buy us something that pricey but we were thinking it would be good to get the registry completion discount when we go to buy.
