Help!! Need advice and answers!

I have been taking the 28 day birth control for almost a year. I had to stop taking it in between packs because of when my doctors appointment was scheduled. I started my new pack the day i went to the doctor (just a physical). I had missed 6 days without pills when i should have already started my new pack. My doc told me to start the pack right away and use a back up method. Now im anxious about whether or not im going to get my period this month because my pills are a week off. Could i be pregnant??
