Ladies.. What did you learn from your first heartbreak? And what age was your first heartbreak?

I learned that saying NO to sex was the right thing. I was 16 and my ex dumped me because of it

I was 18 and I guess I learned the importance of a relationship being 50/50 effort-wise. If you're not getting what you give, there's a time when you need to know when to let go.

I was 13 and I learned that a long distance relationship is too frustrating and painful. He cheated on me, and dumped me on Valentine's Day when he was 2000 miles away. He used to live here with his dad and then, it was great

I was 18 and I was head over heels in love with a beautiful man who went to school in the next town over. He made it seem like he was equally as in love with me.
Turns out, he had severe depression and suicidal tendencies, one day he just disappeared from my life and didn't resurface for a solid 5 months. 
I was CRUSHED for those 5 months, I didn't understand what was going on in his head. When he got back in touch, I said some pretty awful things to him and blocked him from all social media. Now, 3 years later he reached out again and apologized for what he had done.
We're friends now, he's a good man. But I learned not to give my heart away too quickly. I'll give my whole heart to a man, but I need there to be a solid commitment under us, a foundation that will hold us together. And I need to understand where is head and his heart are, I need to be able to look into his eyes and know what's going on, that's when I'll give my heart away again.

Not full on heartbreak, but rough patches. I was 16 and I learned to be honest with my feelings and to communicate everything and  especially to know both sides of the story. Because of this, I worked things out with someone who I have been with for a long time now. And not only do I not regret those rough patches, I'm thankful they happened. To all of you who've been heartbroken, never look back and never regret what happened. One day you'll find something or someone that'll make you glad things happened the way they did 😊

I was 18. I found out he was cheating on me (she facebooked me) with 2 other girls. He got one of them pregnant and got married al while I thought we were perfectly happy together! To say he was scum is an understatement. Definitely learned hat I deserve better and to not jump into a relationship with every guy that likes me.

First relationship taught me that I had a lot to learn. I was 6. Essentially, we all have a lot left to learn.
