My family is fairly religious, but I'm an atheist, should I tell them?

Question

I'm scared that they might disown me if they find out (though I'm kind of suspicious of my brother being non religious) should I trust my brother?

Note: I know this probably isn't controversial but I'm in the middle of a crisis. Please help!!

I feel like it isn't something you need to announce. You have your own beliefs and they should respect that. If it comes up, then it explain it to them but it isn't any of their business.

Personally, I'm in the middle. I'm not really sure what I believe. But my family and my partners family is quite religious. So for myself, I tell no one. I'd rather not be in that mess

I wouldn't say anything. I haven't told anyone in my family, but hinted to my husband and he gets pissed when I mention it. Literally the only people that know with me is the people on glow.

I wouldn't even mention it. My sister is borderline athiest, the rest of my family believe in God. I almost feel bad for her because she knows no peace, but I'm not about to throw the bible at her. I respect the fact that she believes (or doesnt) & has no interest in religion

Meh.... Telling them makes them want to change your mind!  Unless you are confident they will respect your views... May be easier to just respond to them in a way that honors your feelings and theirs.  Not really oppose them, but hold space for them and if it comes to a point they notice and ask, offer your views and ask they respect that.  It's always harder to go in guns blazing and just allow them to be them!

I wouldn't say anything unless it comes up. That said, my family dont practice religion. If they did, I suppose they'd probably have very different disposition then they do now.
