How do they know if baby is too big?

My last ultrasound was a few weeks ago. I'm due august 1. At that time baby was measuring on bigger side. My question is now  how will they know if baby is too big? Do you just attempt delivery and hope it all works out?!

I'm 33 weeks and my belly is measuring 38 weeks.  I've had 2 growth scans and my baby is is in the 77th-91st% on all the different areas they measured.  I'm not not worried about delivery and neither is the doctor.  The female body is and amazing thing.  I unless you have a real medical condition, you can pop out just about any size baby.  My first was 9-6 and 22 inches long.  I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have problems with even an 11lb baby.

I think my doctor makes that call to see if I need another growth scan by the measurements of my belly. Last week my belly was measuring 2 weeks ahead and yesterday I had a grown scan which confirmed that baby is 2 weeks ahead, or in the 94th percential. I'm only 34 weeks this weekend but my doctor made no mention of baby being to big for me to deliver by the end so I'm not to worried. ☺️

My son has been measuring two weeks ahead for my last two scans and my doctor said that 5 pounds at 32 weeks is just right not too small or too big of a baby.
