Is the pill suppose to stop cramps?

so I recently started taking tri sprintec and I started my period today and I'm still having cramps even though the doctor said they would stop and it's kinda heavy as of flow. Someone help?!?

I'm on trinessa and I still have cramps(slightly better but not much) and my flow is a little lighter

I started the pill because my period was very irregular and heavy and extremely painful. My period is significantly lighter. I went from extra long maxi pads to lighter pass and sometimes even panty liners for my whole period. It is still very painful but less than before. It also stopped  my other symptoms like nasuea, and constipation.

Usually birth control takes some time to work its magic when it comes to lessening cramps and lightening flow. I know there has never been a single form of birth control that gets rid of all my cramps (trust me I've tried them all lol) but they do help it just usually takes some time. It also depends on if you were switching methods or starting all together. I would give it time and if it doesn't improve talk to your doctor because everyone is going to react differently to different methods . Good luck!!

I just started trisprintec (4th day) , and it hasn't helped cramping or the bleeding. But the more I take it, hopefully it just reduces it.

Yes! Omg my cramps were the WORST from 11-15. I couldn't ever go to school on the first day of my period. But I got on the pill at 15 and now I barely have cramps, it cleared my acne up and my flow is sooo much lighter. The pill is awesome

Used to suffer very bad with periods such bad pain hot sweats faintness and nausea. First month I took the pill (microgynon) and it was a god send. I have very minimal cramps now
