Spanking your children. Should it be illegal?

I seen a post today on fb saying that it should be illegal. Personally I don't think it's a bad thing as long as you do it correctly. Beating your child and spanking them to discipline are 2 different things. I believe that sometimes when all else has failed ( timeout, punishment, etc) and it depends on the child. I was raised that way and I am fine.
