Glucose test??

How long did you have to fast before taking your glucose tolerance test?

I was told for the 1 hour not to fast.

I was given 12 hours to fast. So I couldn't eat past 9 pm and had my blood draw the next day at 9 am.

You only need to fast for the 3 hour test, if you fail the 1 hour test

My doctor didn't mention not eating, she told me the morning of If I needed to eat I could have an egg,toast and water. That's it.

It's best to ask your doctor or the lab that will be doing it bc it seems to vary a lot. I was told nothing after midnight the night before except for water.

I don't have to fast. Was just told not to eat a lot of sugary foods before and then after you drink the drink you can eat or drink anything within that hour

Just had mine today!  I was allowed to eat eggs and turkey bacon about 2-3 hours before my test.  Test was at 11:00am.
