Birth Control Side Effects

I've taken small dosages of birth control before because of an acne medicine I was on during early high school, but last month I was given a larger dosage of a combined estrogen/progesterone pill for painful periods and pregnancy prevention. The entire time I was on it it made me extremely depressed, anxious, and emotional so I didn't start taking it this month. It took about a week after being off it to go back to normal.
