Erosion found in pap test

So i had a pap test done just because I haven't had one in 2 1/2 years and have started some abnormal spotting after my period. My doctor said it looks like there is an erosion on my cervix ? They did some swabs, etc and she is going to order an ultrasound for me. I am kinda scared and wondering if anyone has had this happen to them.
