smoke around your children or other kids?" /> This is my opinion, but I feel as if smoking around children is a form of child abuse. You wouldn't give your toddler, newborn or child a shot of alcohol or a beer just cuz your having one so why smoke a cigarette around one. It's illegal for anyone under 18 to smoke yet your forcing them to.  I have asthma cuz my mom smoked while she was pregnant and until I was 12. It really sucks to be sick everyday because of someone else's selfish addiction.

2 of my sisters have had asthma since childhood. My parents were pack-a-day smokers. They smoked in the house, in the car. Our doctor told them multiple times they needed to stop, but they never did. I can't count how many times my sisters had to be taken to the ER because their breathing was so bad from the smoke. It's definitely child abuse!!

Why is this up for debate? Who the fuck would do that? It's common sense. We all know what goes into making cigarettes. If you wanna inhale that garbage that's on you. But your kids still have a life to live. Don't fuck that shit up for them.

I definitely think it's abuse.  That is so unhealthy and it shouldn't be anywhere near a child.  I don't even like smokers to be around my son because of the lingering smoke and chemicals on their clothes.

Unless you blow your smoke directly into child's face, I really don't see the issue. You can't get asthma from knowing someone who smokes.

My mom smokes but kept it a secret from me until recently. In my opinion I wouldn't smoke in front of them but don't keep it a secret at least let them know what you are doing.

In some states it's illegal to smoke in your car if you also have kids in there. Which I agree with. People smoking near me irritates my throat really bad. I feel bad for kids whose parents smoke. Nevermind the second hand smoke but if both parents smoke your child has a 60% higher chance of growing up and being a smoker. You could be setting them up for pretty bad health problems.
