I need someone's advice

I can't stop thinking about this... I been hanging out with this guy that I really like and it's been great but I didn't realize that other day he was asking if my grandma needed insurance (he sells life insurance for the state) and I told him I didn't think so and he said well let me talk to her... Do you think he wanted to talk to her about insurance or for my grandmas approval. I want to be with him I like him a lot I just don't know how to ask him if he wants to be with me or if he wants a relationship or not. Please give me some advice I need it
