Iud AND condom???

Question

Okay so I need to to know is a condom really necessary in terms of pregnancy prevention when I already have an iud??????? My SO doesn't want to not use one 'just in case' but ugh I'd rather not

I think if you just got the paragard it's smart for the first month to wear a condom. Sometimes they can not be correctly inserted. And they may try to work their way out. If this happens it is ineffective. Using a condom for the first month is smart just to cover your bases to make sure ur iud is staying right where it needs to be. Then after a month, and ur second check up with you Doctor to check location, if you know your partner is clean then no condoms! 😊
