What? Anyone have any idea?

I went to the ER in a lot of pain today on one side.. They did and ultrasound and I seen a perfect 6 week 4 day baby with a heartbeat of 120bpm. They took my hormone level and said It was 17,000 and said during my ultrasound they found a cyst on my ovary and said because my hormone level is so high they are afraid it is another baby stuck in my tube or and ectopic pregnancy. Meaning I would have fraternal twins but one did not implant. They said it is uncommon but not impossible.. Anyone ever had this happen? Or heard of this? What were the results? So curious

My sister was pregnant with fraternal twins. At 7 weeks on of her Fallopian tubes ruptured due to an eptopic triplet! She had emergency surgery to repair the damage. She when on to deliver healthy twins!

I had a cyst and they monitor it to make sure it stays the same, doesn't grow, or burst, mine went away and now I'm 27+2 weeks

It's called heterotopic pregnancies and it's definitely possible, but super rare. I work in reproductive health care and of the 12-13,000 pts I've seen in my career up to this point, I've seen it happen once. Obviously an ectopic pregnancy would be dangerous so definitely follow up w/the hospital. Most likely it's the cyst causing your problems.

I went to the ER at 7 weeks (pregnant with twins) for pain on my left side. They checked on babies and said I had a few huge cysts on my ovaries. They measured them and have just been watching them. They said the pain was likely due to the cysts pressing against nerves. 
Unfortunately we lost one of our twins at 8 weeks but that had nothing to do with the cysts. 
I hope your pain was just due to the cyst pushing on nerves. Are they going to follow up?

This was a long time ago but still means it's possible. This happened to my mom. So yes it's possible. I would have them monitor it closely.
