Naming you child after a family member.

aHolland
My brother passed away a year ago. His daughter was 1 and 1/2 his name was Eldridge Grant. We called him Ridge. For weeks now we have talked about wanting to name our child after him. We like Ridgeleigh Elizabeth Loveall for a girl and Eldridge Brock Loveall for a boy. My sister is also due and we are exactly a week apart in due dates. She has baby names picked and ready. My brothers wife is young and so I know she will remarry she talked about if she had a boy naming him ridge but now she talks and says she's not planning on having anymore. But I'm sure that could change. The name Eldridge grant (ridge) comes from my mother's side of the family and she is perfectly fine with us using it. However today my sister and I talked and she said she's not using his name so his daughter can use for her children oneday. And that has me second guessing if we should still use it. I'm not sure I really want to name our little baby after my brother but don't want to take from my sister in law or take away from my neice using. My mother thinks it is perfectly fine because my neieces children are a completely different generation from my babies. I just need options should I let it go and pick out a different name or go with it?
