Has anyone had a baby with a bladder outlet obstruction or lower urinary tract obstruction? I'm 13.5 weeks and after my ultrasound yesterday, the Dr said that the baby's bladder is enlarged and practically said our situation is hopeless. He's pushing for termination but I'm not giving up on our baby no matter what, through Christ ALL things are possible! When I'm 16 weeks we can have a shunt put in to create an alternate passage for urine to leave the bladder. Until then it's a waiting game. Dr said, 1/3 of babies who are carried full term with this condition come out with severe mental retardation. I haven't read anything stating that online, and I've Googled this to no end. Please any success stories would be a blessing right now! Especially if you were diagnosed early on like my baby has been.
